Cardell Clemons was one of the Surprises of the 7on7 National Championship. He ran three interceptions back for touchdowns and scored a lot of other touchdowns on offense. He will play for the West in the All-American Bowl Game Classic!

GLENPOOL, Oklahoma -
Cardell Clemons was basically an unknown player coming in to this great event. With an extraordinary performance in the combine and on the field, Clemons was invited to play in the 2006 All-American Bowl Game Classic, and he has accepted!

Glenpool, Oklahoma is home to what may be one of the Midwest’s biggest sleeper prospects: RB Cardell Clemons. Until today he has not appeared in any recruiting database or featured by any national publication. Clemons (5-10, 185, 4.4) got a rare opportunity to make a name for himself on a national level by showing up and competing against some of the nations top tier players at the 7on7 National Championship and Nike SPARQ Challenge Super Combine that was hosted by Max Emfinger and held at Fort Worth Nolan Catholic High School.

In the combine Clemons ran a 4.5 forty, and a very tough 4.28 pro-agility shuttle. In the 7on7 competitions, Clemons was clearly the National Select Black Team Offensive MVP. He also showed some great coverage skills, and teams learned early to pick on another part of the field. I was not keeping score on how many touchdowns Cardell had, but he had multiple almost every game. One game he turned an impressive interception into six points by returning it 40 yards. There is also no doubting his toughness. Clemons played both ways for two straight days in 100-degree weather. He saw almost every snap for seven games. It was an amazing athletic performance.

Clemons was an unknown outside of Oklahoma coming into this game and he wanted to share some kind words to show his appreciation for the opportunity this event gave him to show his skills to a broader fan-base. “It was probably the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. It was just awesome. Thank you. I never even knew I would have to have the chance to earn a spot in an All-American Game. It is just…I just do not know exactly what to say,” exclaimed Clemons.

Schools like Kansas, Oklahoma State , UCLA, and SW Missouri State are recruiting Cardell. Kansas invited him to come to their senior camp, but due to prior obligations, he was unable to attend. “I get mail from all of those schools. I do not have an offer yet, but I am going to be working hard to get one. That was part of the reason I wanted to come to this camp so bad, because it offered me an opportunity to put my name out there. Out of all those schools I would have to say that I like Kansas the best because of their great weight room and all of that.”

As a junior Clemons rushed for around 2,000 yards and 20 touchdowns, and helped lead the Glenpool Warriors to the State Semifinals.
