Kyle Prater (6-4.5, 215, 4.47) of Hillsdale Proviso West, Illinois is sensational on his highlight film. He grabbed 60 balls for 948 yards and 9 touchdowns. At the start of the Spring Super Combines and Camps, he was pretty outstanding, but then at a few Combines and Camps later, he was simply fantastic.
With his huge body and great leaping ability, he looks almost unstoppable as he runs his pass patterns against smaller defensive backs. Right now, Prater is considered to be one of the top recruits in the country. He is also is considered to be the top wide receiver in the country and I have rated him at a Big Wide Receiver.
Beore the season started, he had received 44 offers from most of the major BCS teams in the country, including Southern Cal, Arizona, Arizona State, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Stanford, Notre Dame, Iowa, Wisconsin, Purdue, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, and even Stanford and Vanderbilt.
Prater had narrowed his choices to Southern Cal, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Illinois, before he decided that he wanted to become a USC Trojan. By selecting the Trojans, he will be joining another fabulous wide receiver, Robert Woods.
Woods (6-1, 180, 4.41) of Gardena Jumpero Serre, California, is one of the top athletes in the country and he could play either cornerback or wide receiver, but if he teams with Prater and tight end Xavier Grimble (6-6, 235, 4.6) of Las Vegas, Nevada, the Trojans just locked up the best receiving corps in the 2010 recruiting class.
When Prater committed to the Trojans, it leap-frogged them from Sixth in the National Rankings to second in the national rankings. The MEARS INDEX RATINGS for the three players is pretty sensational as Prater leads with a 1,576 MEARS; Woods with a 1,555 MEARS; and Grimble with a 1,540 MEARS.
You can bet that quarterback Jesse Scroggins is licking his chops to get to throw to these incredible athletes. By the way, Scroggins (6-3, 204, 4.6) of Lakewood, California is no slouch as he has an outstanding 1,530 MEARS. All four Southern Cal Verbals are Six Star Players in my MEARS INDEX RATING SYSTEM.
