Darwin Rideau (6-0, 206, 4.41, 37 VJ, 3.92 SH, 120 SBJ, 35 REPS) of Star Spencer, Oklahoma is a "Freak of Nature" and he is playing for a new high school team that has not been around too long. His athletic abilities and potential is out of this world. His Head Coach Darrell Hall says that he is one of the best athletes that he has ever coached.
Since he has not been able to attend any Super Combines or Camps, at the start of the football season, he is still "Flying Under the Recruiting Radar" and I know that he is ready for the season to start so he can start putting-up some more big numbers like he did as a junior.
Although he has not been able to go to any Super Combines or Camps, he is still a Super Combine Freak with a best in the Pro-Agility shuttle of 3.94 and a 37 inch vertical jump. Rideau also is the strongest player on the Star Spencer team and he has done an incredible 35 reps on the 185 pound bench press.
Rideau has been a starter at running back since his freshman season. As a junior, he rushed for 1,270 yards on only 104 carries and he scored 18 touchdowns. If you get your calculator out, you can see that he averaged an incredible 12.2 yards on every single carry. I would think that this would get the attention of every college coach in America, but it has still been tough getting information to various college coaches.
I really like this kid and his tremendous athletic ability and I have invited him to play in the 2010 All-American Bowl Game Classic and he has accepted. I think that he could play running back in our All-American Bowl Game, but his future is probably in the secondary at either free safety or cornerback so he will play in the secondary in our game.
As a senior, Rideau was so sensational at running back, he will probably get a chance to play that position in college. In leading his team to the 4A State Championship, Rideau rushed for 1,974 yards on only 113 carries as he averaged an incredible 17.5 yards per carry average.
Rideau also made 71 tackles and 4 interceptions as a senior and was voted to the All-State Team as a running back. He was also selected to the Dailey Oklahoman as an All-State linebacker
